Redefining the meaning of natural beauty Whiskey Creek Golf Club welcomes its patrons with the luxury of an iconic scenery. Driving through the foothills of Ijamsville, Md. and through the gates of the club, golfers are instantly taken away from the cluttered roads and placed into the beautiful countryside.

As the golfer arrives at the clubhouse, the employees are right outside ready to welcome them to the course by offering a complimentary bag carrying service. Walking through the front door of the clubhouse golfer’s may find themselves awestruck by the beautifully crafted building.

With a county lodge feel, the club provides the patron’s

with a spacious dining area with an open bar, a well

stocked pro shop and a patio area to enjoyu food and

beverages as they take in the course's wonderful

scenery. Adjacent to the clubhouse there is a freestanding

putting green and driving range. But, that’s enough about

the clubhouse. Let’s talk golf.

The golf course was expertly designed throughout the vast Catoctin Mountain range by architect J. Michael Poellet and consultant, 2x U.S. Open Champion Ernie Els. Both Poellet and Els knew what they were doing when they designed this course on the historical grounds of Whiskey Creek.

The course is approximately 7,000 yards long, with challenging back tees for the lower handicappers and has accommodating tee boxes for the higher handicappers, seniors and women. The course provides a challenging, yet enjoyable experience for all skill levels.

As golfers play the course it forces them to play smarter every hole. The course provides various natural features such as broad meadows, pine forests, rock outcroppings, springs, streams, stone walls and wetlands.

As golfer’s go throughout the course they will be faced with a wide variety of shots, but nothing compares to the final hole.“The Par 5 finishing hole is remarkable,” the April 2000 issue of Golf Magazine said.

Captivated by the courses natural beauty, it will be worth the price to play a course in which Els considers “a winner.”

Golfers can get more information and set up their tee time through Whiskey Creek's website.
