Mickelson Named Interim Assistant Coach

Jeremy Beale

It seems that Phil Mickelson is looking to step into some new shoes as his brother Tim Mickelson has extended him the opportunity to fill the golf assistant coaching position at Arizona State University.

According to the Pitchfork's Blog, the former Sun Devil won three NCAA individual championships in 1989, 1990 and 1992. And then assisted the team's victory in 1990.

"The timing of an assistant coach job opening and my brother always showing an interest in helping ASU has allowed Phil to join us as an assistant coach on an interim basis," Tim said in his released statement. "To share the Arizona State experience with my brother is a dream come true for our family, as he will be able to help in many ways as an official member of the Sun Devil staff."

Woods Responds to Mock Interview

By Jeremy Beale

The truth in satire is always a tough pill to swallow, but was this the case for critically acclaimed Hall of Fame writer Dan Jenkins of Golf Digest?

According to Tiger Woods, the article was said to be "Not funny, Not True" and bellow the belt in his rebuttal to Jenkins work.

Woods in an effort to defend his name responded on the website The Player's Tribune to his fans seeking support against the article

"Did you read Dan Jenkins’ interview with me in the latest Golf Digest?," Woods said. "I hope not. Because it wasn’t me. It was some jerk he created to pretend he was talking to me. That’s right, Jenkins faked an interview, which fails as parody, and is really more like a grudge-fueled piece of character assassination."

Dustin Johnson Anticipates Return

By Jeremy Beale

It has been a rough go for the PGA Tour Professional Dustin Johnson since his six-month suspension in August due to drug abuse and his decision to seek help.

But, there is a glimmer of hope in his not so distant future.

With Johnson's wife-to-be expecting and his suspension soon to expire, Johnson anticipates a return to golf at the 2015 Farmer's Insurance Open in February.

However, according to his manager David Wrinkle, Johnson is no different than any other father expecting a child and a return is not for certain.

Woods Announces New Swing Coach

By Jeremy Beale

On Saturday, November 23 Tiger Woods took to the Twitter-sphere to announce a change in strategy.

Sean Foley, Woods' former swing coach who separated from him back in August 2014 was finally replaced by a 37-year-old, graduate in biomechanics and neuroscience named Chris Como.

According to Golf Channel, Como earned a spot as Golf Magazine’s Youngest Top-100 teacher in 2013 and a Golf Digest "Top 40 Under 40".

Como and Woods were introduced to one another earlier this year by Notah Begay III, a former Stanford University teammate of Woods.

"I am happy to have Chris Como consulting and working with me on my swing," Woods said via Twitter anticipating the upcoming season.

As competition heats up for Omega Player of the Year, spectacular talent showed up to the tee boxes of University of Maryland Golf Club, September 25 during the annual Mid-Atlantic Professional Golf Association (MAPGA) Club Car Professional Championship.

Also, Scott Shapin hailing from Old South Country Club achieved his first top-10 Section finish and earned almost $1,700 after capturing the victory from reigning champion Jimmy Flippen of Ringgold Golf Club.

Although Flippen led the round with six birdies, Shapin kept his composure by maintaining a par average and capitalizing on crucial Par-4 and Par-5 birdie opportunities just before making the turn to the back nine.
